Merida has been creating high-quality designer rugs and modern area rugs for over 31 years. However, until very recently our distinct line of natural area rugs has only been available to showrooms and interior designers. In December 2009, Merida launched Merida Home, a consumer-focused website aimed at promoting Merida’s unique collection of area rugs online including contemporary modern area rugs and designer rugs to the individual consumer.
You might be asking yourself what we mean when we say “designer rugs” or “modern area rugs.” Every rug company out there will claim to have the most innovative designer rugs on the market, but Merida products speak for themselves. We have a full-service weaving team that spends countless hours on our jacquard loom or tufting frames to create modern area rugs with a personal touch. Our raw materials are cultivated in partnership with overseas suppliers to ensure only the highest quality fibers are used for your rug. The Merida designer team internalizes the needs and preferences of our consumers to ensure that our designer rugs are catering to their needs, not the other way around.
Merida is proud to call themselves an innovator in modern area rugs, but we encourage you to check out our selection of designer rugs for yourself. In addition to Merida’s own designer rugs, we are the exclusive provider of the Veledo Collection, a recycled leather flooring product from German manufacturer Tretford, and the exclusive provider of Tasibel sisal and sisal combination rugs in the United States.
